Let's talk about the elephant in the room - "home Inspection pricing". Most inspection companies don't blog about this topic, but I'm going to be totally transparent about the subject.
There are companies that are more expensive than me that only sell inspection "packages", which lead the client to, in all likelihood, buy services they may not need (or want), even though the information and reports they provide may be great. Then there are other companies that are cheaper than me that may or may not be the ideal choice. I'm definitely not saying they're all bad, but a few warning signs about the "cheapest inspector" to be aware of when making your decision include: allowing for less than 3 hours (on a normal sized home) to complete an inspection, the tendency to outsource most (if not all) ancillary services, hard-to-read reports with lots of "walls-of-text" and very few pictures, very few certifications/licenses/evidence of education, and possibly less than ideal Google reviews.
In most cases, you get what you pay for, but that doesn't mean you should pay more than you need to. Here's what you're getting when you choose Area Wide Home Inspection:
Deal with only me from the initial call through the inspection (nothing lost in translation), report review, and follow up questions - even if it's 6 months later!

Plus, on the extremely rare occasion that a client wants a service that I do not offer, I do NOT outsource it and mark it up. I will refer them to the appropriate service provider in that case.
Educating the client in what it is they're buying - my background in education paved the way to this being part of my business model.
